Another Day, Another Misappropriation

 

Today's article is about a local (Houston, TX) story in which a now-former employee is accused of stealing checkbooks from a business and then allegedly used them to write himself checks, forging the signature of the business owner, and cashed the checks. He did this over a span of 10 months, from February to November of 2023.

Stuff happens. Employees steal from employers all the time. But it doesn't have to be your business. It doesn't have to be your employees. Learn how to better protect yourself (such as requiring 2 signatures for checks, or protecting where checks are kept) before anything happens.
